I had an excellent experience at SORVA! I had chronic back pain and have been to physical therapy several times at other facilities. This place was by far the best experience. “I am a retired physician and therefore know excellent medical care when I experience it. Over the past 10 years I have had four lumbar disc procedures. The most recent was a L5-S1 laminectomy in August 2018. My orthopedist recommended that I have physical therapy to expedite my post-operative recovery. He referred me to Spine and Orthopedic Rehab of Virginia (SORVA). He felt due to my complex previous surgical history that SORVA was the place for me to go. From the moment I walked in the door, I was met by a staff member who knew my name and asked if he could do anything to make me more comfortable. I was seen by a therapist before my scheduled appointment time; and, after the evaluation, my treatment began immediately. All my future appointments were scheduled before I left on my first day. When you arrive for your appointment, staff members know your name and are always smiling and courteous. Continuity of care is paramount at SORVA; because, you always see the same therapist for each appointment. The results I am getting are amazing. If you need orthopedic or spine physical therapy, SORVA is where you should go. By the way, if you forget exactly how to perform a stretch or exercise; a staff member immediately provides guidance and corrects technique. Physical therapy students rotate regularly at SORVA. In order to teach students, you must be very competent in your field and be current on the most recent treatments.
